Burn Rate is a series exploring the value of art and what we are willing to invest in art. I am selling shares in the project for one dollar each. With the dollars I am creating charcoal for the art. As I sell the art, the investors receive a return on their shares. I create the charcoal by soaking dollar bills in water for several hours, drying them in the sun for a day, and then burning them in oxygen deprived containers at 500 degrees fahrenheit. This produces charcoal as opposed to ash.
